Multi-Genre project: Research proposal
For my project I have been struggling with a topic and still am struggling on what I will do. For now I have chosen to do mine over Anorexia Nervosa. I don't have any exact sources that have struggled with this problem but I will be interviewing my dad and stepmother to see their insight on the situation. The proposed dates I will set to interview them will be next week February 3-7. Anorexia Nervosa is an intense eating disorder that makes people lose more weight that is considered healthy for their age and height. People who have this usually have a deep fear of any types of weight gain. People who do not struggle with this usually view it as weird or uncommon, when in reality it is very sad. Although many people know what Anorexia is many people do not know the symptoms, struggles, and statistics on the subject. I chose this topic because so many girls think that to be pretty they have to be super skinny. Beauty should not be defined on all looks and certainly not a number on a silly scale. Through my project I will plan to find answers to questions people wonder. I have no sources yet but plan to use books and use reliable sources online.

I like your topic, you should definitely stick with it. I completely agree with what you said about beauty and hopefully what you'll have to say will help others see it that way too!
ReplyDeleteThis topic was a good choice, there's a lot of sites and everything with people who have been through that or other self harm situations who try to help other people and I'm sure you could talk to one of them about it if you need someone to interview.
ReplyDeleteI really hope this paper goes well (which I'm sure it should) because some girls need help with this disorder
ReplyDeleteThis seem like a really good topic you should stick with it!
ReplyDeleteI like this topic... are you using your parents to just see opinions, or for facts? You could always find a dietician for a source
ReplyDeleteThis topic sounds like it will make a really interesting project. Im looking forward to the presentation on this one.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very important topic, and I'm glad you are doing it!
ReplyDeleteThis topic could definitely support a well researched project. You said that you are not sure that you'll do this topic, what other topics have you looked at?
ReplyDeleteI like the interest that you've taken in this topic! Why are you choosing to interview your parents?
ReplyDeleteI hate how easily our society can say someone is unattractive because they are curvy or bigger than the "average" size. I hope you stick with this topic because it is important for everyone to understand how serious it is.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good topic because in todays society it is pushed that in order to be beautiful you must be a certain size.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of multiple situations of females having this disorder, and I my self do not understand it. I could never stop eating. I should be more wise about what I eat but I am not. I will be excited to see what new information you find out about it.
ReplyDeletePeople of all sizes get teased and picked on for their weight. I am a size 1 and I get so many rude comments like "shes too skinny" "Do you ever eat?" and y all time favorite comment is " Her legs look like tooth picks that is not the reason I am commenting though. I think this is a good topic, but I must ask why are you interviewing your mother and father?
ReplyDeleteI think that topic is really great and will be really eye opening to anyone who reads it. Making people aware of the problem is the best way to stop it.
ReplyDeleteI like your topic and I am excited to learn more!
ReplyDeleteI think this topic could be very interesting and eye opening!
ReplyDeleteThis topic is a very heavy topic but I am glad that does not seem to scare you!
ReplyDeleteIt may be hard to not only find someone with Anorexia but also to have to talk openly about it. I hope your research goes well!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great topic! I bet you could get in touch with a counselor or someone from that field that could give you more information on that.
ReplyDeleteReally nice how you're going through with this topic because there are a lot of people who struggle with this. Most definitely contact counselors.
ReplyDeletethis is a serious topic and im glad more than one person is going deeper in to the topic.
ReplyDeleteI did research on this topic in middle school, and it's pretty interesting. I think there's a lot to be said about Anorexia so I'm really glad you're thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're tackling a very difficult topic, but someone needs to talk about it.
ReplyDeleteI think that it is super cool that you are taking on such a bold topic, and I wish you luck on finding your sources!
